Basics

The STIR Academy is based on the sustainocratic column of values:

  • Your talent

  • Safety (respect, integrity)

  • Equality

  • Trust

  • Cooperation

Based on these values the Academy is kept together. The STIR Academy is based on inclusion, not on exclusion, as long as these values are respected. Those who do not will exclude themselves.

Membership fee

The Portal's/HUB membership fee is necessary to manage the development of the global network and the reciprocity. It takes this part oit of your hands so that you can concentrate on developing the local participation, education and application of inspiration.

Membership fee for 2014:  330 euro

Reciprocity: You get what you give

The STIR Academy consists of many inspirational initiatives and people who are willing to share this information with the world. You may have inspiration for us too. Every time you put inspiration on demand into the network you have the right to get one back. If you give 100 you get 100 back.

If the exchange is equal then the worldwide network is free of change for you apart from the membership fee.

If you take more you pay, if you give more you get paid.

A given session = one taken

If you take a lecture out of the network you commit to providing one back of equal or better quality, or pay the lecture fee. A lecture is only a lecture when actually taken. You can't give what is not taken, you cannot take what is not given. It is up to the member to assure that his or her lectures are of interest to the network. Lectures will be rated according the amount of requests and actual lectures given in a time frame.

The top 10 lectures, lecturers and hubs will be featured. In the future we will see if we can do something special with them.

HUB master - Managing the HUB without international costs

If you are in the lucky circumstance of having a single source of inspiration that is highly demanded internationally you can negotiate locally with the person to perform against local payment by you so that you can benefit from the reciprocity rule. You can equally provide many different sources of inspiration and let the network decide how much they take from you. How you deal with the local inspirers is up to you as long as the international network demands on you are met and respected. You would expect the same from the network.

In case of conflict:

Local conflicts are responsibility of the HUB master. Conflicts between HUBs are resolved by intervention of STIR.

Technology

The technology to communicate is high speed internet. A hub-representative is responsible for a correct working HUB (signal reception, audio, video and interaction microphones, as well as a signal back to the lecturer) at the time of the lecture. The lecturer is responsible for assuring the adequate transmission of the lecture as well as interaction with the remote public, normally managed through the sending HUB.

Taping and publishing the session

One always has to ask permission, specific and reproducable, from the lecturer if one wishes to tape the lecture for classroom usage, publication through social media or otherwise. The decision of the lecturer is binding.

Maximum 90 minutes

An online lecture will never last more than 90 minutes, including online interaction with students. Shorter lectures are of course excellent. Time and date is agreed between lecture taker and lecturer, taking any time differences into account. Combinations of video, documentary and online interviews are also possible of course to reduce the time online.

Students and public

The HUB responsible and taker of the lecturer is responsible for the availability and presence of an audience at the agreed time and date of the lecture.

Last minute changes

The lecturer will do everything in his/her power to guarantee the lecture at the established time and date. It is wise among both organizers to pre-agree what to do in case of uncertainties. Also both ends will agree on last minute changes or cancelation.

In case of dispute both parties will resolve their difference in a friendly way. The only instrument the STIR Academy can apply is the temporarily or total cancelation of the membership.

Financial gain or losses

The STIR Academy can not be helt accountable or responsible for financial or other types of gain or losses, both being responsibility of the members themselves. It is entirely up to the connecting parties to make their agreements within the scope of the STIR column of values that each committed to.

Acceptance

When you sign up as lecturer or hub master you automatically agree with these general terms, declaring that you have read them and aclnowledge the content.

Revision

These terms are due for regular revision. All current members will be emailed when changes have taken place. Each can react in accordance with the option to terminate the membership. We intend to make this a cooperation in which the terms are also subject to group improvement.

Termination of the membership

Membership can always be terminated at "sufficient" notice, except in case of force mayeur. "Sufficient" notice meaning with respect for the established and agreed lecture times. At all times all parties remain committed even when terminating the relationship. A commitment can always be changed with a suitable and mutually agreed alternative.
